1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using AI ebook translator, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.

2. Service Description

AI ebook translator provides AI-powered translation services for e-books in EPUB and FB2 formats. We translate content to your selected target language and reading level using LLMs (Large Language Models) from leading providers.

3. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Only upload e-books you have the right to translate (you own the copyright, have permission, or the work is in the public domain)
• Not use the service for any illegal purposes
• Not attempt to abuse or circumvent our systems
• Provide accurate email addresses for delivery
• Review the content of your book before uploading to ensure it complies with our content policies
• Ensure uploaded files are properly formatted and of reasonable quality. Files converted from PDF or other formats may contain formatting issues that affect translation quality.
• Acknowledge that in cases of translation failures, quality disputes, or refund requests, we may review your uploaded files to diagnose issues and resolve disputes

4. Content Policies

We use Large Language Models (LLMs) from OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, and xAI, combining multiple providers to ensure the best quality and reliability. These LLMs may decline to process certain types of content based on their safety policies, including but not limited to:

• Explicitly sexual content involving minors
• Content promoting violence or hate speech
• Content that violates applicable laws
• Other content restricted by our AI providers' acceptable use policies

We use multiple AI providers with different content policies and do our best to complete every translation. However, in rare cases where content exceeds all available providers' acceptable use policies, translation may not be possible. If your translation cannot be completed due to content restrictions, you may request a refund. Partial refunds may be issued to account for processing costs already incurred.

5. Payment Terms

Payment is required before translation begins. Prices are calculated based on the word count of your book and displayed before you commit to the purchase. We accept payment via Stripe, which supports major credit cards and other payment methods.

6. Input File Quality

Important: Our service is designed for native EPUB and FB2 e-book files. Files that have been converted from other formats (such as PDF, DOC, or scanned documents) often contain formatting issues, OCR errors, broken paragraphs, or corrupted text that can significantly impact translation quality.

We cannot guarantee translation quality for poorly formatted source files. Refund requests may not be approved if the quality issues in the translation result from:

• Files converted from PDF or scanned documents
• Files containing OCR (optical character recognition) errors
• Corrupted or malformed e-book files
• Files with excessive formatting issues or broken text

We recommend reviewing your source file before uploading to ensure the text is clean and properly formatted.

7. Money-Back Guarantee

We stand behind the quality of our translations. If you are not satisfied with the translation quality, you may request a refund under the following conditions:

• Timeframe: Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of receiving your translated book
• Eligibility: The refund applies to quality issues with the translation, not matters of personal preference in translation style
• Process: Contact us at support@aiebooktranslator.com with your order details and a description of the quality issue
• Resolution: We will review your request and, if approved, issue a full refund within 5-10 business days

Refunds are not available if the translation was successfully completed and meets reasonable quality standards for AI translation.

8. Technical Failures

If translation fails due to technical issues on our end (server errors, processing failures, etc.), you will receive a full refund automatically. No action is required on your part in these cases.

9. Intellectual Property

You retain all rights to your original e-books and their translations. We do not claim any ownership over your content. Your uploaded files and translations are stored securely and are only accessible by you.

We do not use your books or translations to train AI models.

10. Data Retention

Uploaded files and translations are stored for 30 days to allow you to re-download your translated book. After 30 days, files are automatically deleted from our servers. You may request early deletion of your files at any time by contacting support.

11. Limitation of Liability

AI ebook translator is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of our service.

AI translation, while high quality, is not perfect. For critical documents requiring certified accuracy (legal, medical, etc.), we recommend human review of translations.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these Terms or use of the service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation or, if necessary, through appropriate legal channels.
